What this is
1 in 200 Million (the 'service') is a site checkup tool. Put in a site's address and it checks what could block the link before it spreads (link previews, sharing, https, search and more) and gives it a score. The checkup, the score, the prescription that lists what to fix for each item, in order, and how, the Pre-spread check and the leaderboard are free, with no sign-up. Only Specialist Care is paid (see 'Specialist Care' below). Copying the prescription for an AI coding tool in one go, or downloading it as Markdown, is part of Specialist Care.
The service is run together with 1 in 8 Billion (1in8b.life), by the same operator. What we went through spreading 1 in 8 Billion is the basis of this checkup. The two services share a contact email address, but their usage records are never passed between them or combined.
The score is a reference value for 'Ready to spread': 70 points from reading the public pages by set rules, plus 30 points for 'what people will like', judged by AI against set criteria. The AI part can vary a little, even for the same site. The score doesn't decide what a site is worth, and it doesn't guarantee results. What AI writes may be wrong. If a page has text meant to fool the AI, we leave that text out, count only half of that site's 'what people will like' points, and the site can't be added to the leaderboard.
Specialist Care (paid)
- What you get. We open Specialist Care for one site. Before it spreads: ① Viral readiness exam (a table setting what this page sends against people per day and free plan limits, where it could get stuck and how to cut it down), ② Tailored prescription (steps and code fitted to the tool this site was built with, and the prescription with that code, to copy for an AI coding tool or download as Markdown), ③ Previews by app and in-app browser checks (how it looks in KakaoTalk, Threads and X, and what gets blocked inside apps), ④ Deep scan (previews of up to 20 inner pages), ⑤ Privacy policy draft and copy in other languages (a privacy policy draft, the preview text in English and Japanese, llms.txt and structured data). As it spreads: ⑥ Preview image treatment (3 drafts), ⑦ Share card treatment (2 portrait card drafts and share button code), ⑧ Launch prescription (draft posts and an order for the first week). After it spreads: ⑨ After-spread prep (a to-do list), ⑩ Weekly checkups (only if you want them, every week).
- For reference only. Plan limits are the free plan figures each service publishes, as of the day we checked, and they can change. Draft posts and calculations are for reference; please check them yourself before posting. The privacy policy draft is written from what we found on public pages, so it is not legal advice. Check that it matches the information you really collect, and edit it. Previews by app are a rough picture drawn from each app's published rules and the operator's experience. We don't guarantee results.
- Scope and period. It covers the one site you chose at payment (with or without www counts as the same site), and you can open it again any time for one year from the day you paid. When you re-check, it's written fresh for the site as it is then.
- Price. The amount shown on the payment screen (tax included). You pay once, and it never renews on its own.
- How you get it. When payment is done, you come back to this site and it opens right away, and you get a care code (for example, ABCD-EF23). On another device, enter this code to open it. Please keep the code somewhere safe.
- The site's owner may use the preview image drafts freely on their own site.
Seller and payment
Payment is handled by Link (Sold through Link), run by Stripe, as the merchant of record. Link takes care of payment, tax, receipts and payment questions (support.link.com), and your card statement shows a name starting with 'LINK.COM*'. The service's operator is responsible for what Specialist Care contains, its quality and the refund promise below. If you are under 19, please have a parent or guardian pay.
Refunds
Within 30 days of the day you paid, we give you a full refund, no questions asked. Press 'Request a refund' at the very bottom of Specialist Care and an email with your code opens; just send it as is (if you've lost the code, write to contact@1in8b.life with the email address you paid with). As soon as we confirm it (usually within 2–3 days), the money goes back to the way you paid. Once refunded, that code is closed. If Specialist Care doesn't open as promised, even after 30 days, let us know at contact@1in8b.life.
Leaderboard
Only sites whose owners put in the verification tag and agreed to be listed appear on the leaderboard. The address, score, title, type and strengths are public, and removing the tag takes the site down. Listed sites are re-checked on their own once a week, and whenever the checkup criteria change, and their scores are updated. Adult, gambling, scam and illegal sites can't be added, and a site is hidden automatically when reports from several people pile up. The links on the leaderboard and the content of those sites are each site owner's responsibility.
Anyone can tap a reaction (four kinds, such as 'Tried it') on a leaderboard site and leave one-line feedback (up to 100 characters), with no sign-up. What you leave is public on the leaderboard and on that site's results screen. Please share how it felt to use and words that help. You can't leave contact details such as links, email addresses or phone numbers, other people's personal information, swearing, discrimination or put-downs, or promotional or advertising posts. Posts that collect reports, or that the operator finds don't meet these rules, may be hidden or deleted without notice. Each post is its writer's responsibility, and by posting you allow us to show it within the service. When a site comes off the leaderboard, the posts and reactions left on it are deleted too.
Please don't
- Run automated checkups over and over, enough to burden someone's site (the limit is 15 per person every 10 minutes)
- Misrepresent the service or its results to harm others
- Use it to harass someone's site or look for its weak spots (each site gets only a few fresh checkups a minute)
- Inflate reactions, or use one-line feedback to promote things or to harass others
Learning from checkup results
Checkup results (technical details about a site, such as the score, items, the tool it was built with and speed) are collected per site and used to make checkups better. If you turn off 'Use my checkup results to make checkups more accurate' under the address box, that result isn't kept. The 'Weekly checkups' in Specialist Care re-check a site every week only when its owner turns them on, and turning them off deletes those records. What we collect is only published or written about as grouped statistics where no site can be recognized, and we never sell the records or hand them to anyone. The details are in the privacy policy.
Changes
When these terms change, we'll say so on this page, with the date the change takes effect. We never reduce the scope or period of Specialist Care you've already paid for.
